New suits with artificial intelligence, designed to help workers in physically demanding jobs and create safer working conditions.

At CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2023, the company will showcase its newly developed, lightweight, artificial intelligence-powered Apogee suits, which can make workers’ physical work easier and safer by reducing injury and fatigue.

In addition to the suit, the Smart Safety Vest, which provides ergonomic protection and monitoring of the worker’s condition, will also be on display.

The Cray X exoskeleton, which won the CES 2023 Best Innovation Award, is also scheduled to be on display.

Apogee wearable robot

The next generation wearable robot has a great design and is powered by AI via Apogee. It has an extended range of enhanced applications.

The suit minimizes walking fatigue by actively assisting the user. The lumbar region of the back is supported up to 66 lbs (33 kg) per load lift. The suit is moisture and dust resistant.

The industries in which the wearable robot can be used are varied: it is ideal for cargo handling applications in the construction, logistics and other industries.

Smart Safety Vest

Thanks to the fact that the waistcoat is equipped with artificial intelligence sensors, ergonomic assessment data and suggestions for improvement measures are provided instantly.

Risk identification and analysis and recommendations for elimination and improvement can be carried out regardless of the activity.

Bionic IO  Platform

The Bionic IO platform is positioned as an innovative tool, it is a cloud-based platform that learns and improves using data from Apogee, Smart SafetyVest and Cray X.

In this way, detailed monitoring and reporting is carried out, as well as suggestions for improvement measures to achieve maximum ergonomics in each individual case.

The innovative device has already been tested by leading manufacturers

The strength suits provide a great solution to reduce the strain on workers’ musculoskeletal system and improve productivity.

IKEA has completed testing of German Bionic exoskeletons, which began in July 2019, and has designed workplaces using smart strength suits.

UK tech company Currys has invested in an entire fleet of Cray X exoskeletons from German Bionic. Currys’ state-of-the-art facility in New Arc already has the ability to ease the shipment processes for workers, thereby reducing the risk of workplace injuries.

Bottom line

Wearable robots are, without exaggeration, the best innovation in workplace safety for manual workers. With these wearable devices, work becomes much easier and more productive, according to German Bionic.

“They provide mechanical support for lifting and carrying and use an intelligent assistance system to alert users, for example, if they are lifting incorrectly or when they should take a break.”
